The Deli Department is one of the most busiest departments, setting aside the front end. Most other departments are mainly self help, the consumer can grab what they need and go. If you want to avoid the long wait, you can always call ahead so your meats and cheeses are cut and ready when you arrive. Special order platters are also made in the deli using lunch meat and cheese. Some are topped off with fruit garnishing. Many delis also offer subs and freshly fried or rotisserie chicken. These make for great meal ideas on busy days.
The front end department consists of cashiers, baggers, customer service, and store managers. Cashiers and baggers are The busiest in the store; every customer must go through them when checking out. It is important as a cashier and bagger to be friendly and smile. Though you may be the last person the customer sees in the store, that customer will remember whether or not they felt welcome in the store by the attitude you give them.
